The Hatching Intervention Team consists of special education teachers, play therapists, child psychologist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, and other professionals within Hatching Center network. Hatching Center also have a panel of visiting consultants including paediatricians, neurologists and child psychiatrists.
We have a comprehensive range of standardized assessments, observations and structured programmes to cater to a wide range of needs. Using this pool of resources, the team of professionals collaborates to conduct assessments and develop individualized programmes for each child. The programmes are also planned with family involvement in mind as their participation is important in facilitating the child’s progress.
Ms. Loh Yee Shan
Founder & Director, Child Psychologist
The Founder and Managing Director of Hatching Center both in Singapore and Malaysia.
Her credentials include MSc in Child Psychology, BSc in Psychology as well as Diploma in Special Education. She is also a certified practitioner of Play Therapy.
She has many years of experience working with children with mental health concerns and wide range of conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexics, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder and Developmental Delays.
Ms. Teo Lizhen, Grace
Co-Director & SEN Educators Lead
Grace Teo joins Hatching with the aim to create more social awareness and inclusive culture to special education field in Singapore. She graduated with a Master in Child Psychology, B.A. (hons) Psychology and is a member of American Psychological Association (APA), a member of The Speech Therapy Solution and is ABA, AVBA and Hanen trained, where she facilitates communication development in young children. She is also familiar with OG Approach and Spalding method to teach reading.
She has many years of working experience in various settings such as special needs school, Early intervention Center, inclusive preschool and hospitals.
Ms. Looi Wei Lee
Ms Wei Li is the Co-Director of Hatching Center, Malaysia. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Speech Sciences. She is also a Hanen certified therapist who is qualified to conduct Hanen workshop for parents. She worked in Hospital UKM for the 4 years after her graduation and was involved in the management of both paediatrics and adults cases, ranging from infant to elderly, as well as parents and teachers training. After she resigned from the hospital work, she changed to home-based therapy for 2 years and simultaneously, started exploring the intervention center’s settings, in which she works closely with the teachers.
She has many years of experience working with children with language disorder and speech disorders (including apraxia) and adults with aphasia and swallowing disorder. These clients may have diagnosis of Autism, ADHD and Specific Language Impairment. She is a member of Malaysian Association of Speech and Hearing (MASH).
Ms Akma graduated with a Diploma and Degree in Occupational Therapy. After her Diploma, she started working as a home-based therapist for 1 year and another 1 year after her Degree. Then she was involved in the centre-based setting for 3 years in Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). In her 5 years of working experience, she was involved in managing paediatric cases ranging from infants to adolescent with different challenges.
After 4 years of working in individual and small group setting, she started to explore the school-based setting and understands how to help children and teachers in the school setting. Ms Akma is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA).
